Do you think if we had the Vuvuzelas at Home matches it would create an atmosphere or a full scale riot. I think if we had one designated area for fans to use them it would be fine, we all know we have a few fans who would not appreciate it being blown down their ear, but if they were in the Gill Merrick lower or Paddock, may create a better atmosphere for home games.

They are awful things and whoever managed to invent something that makes a similar sound to that of a man blowing down a toilet roll should also be beaten repeatedly with a shovel

Thankfully these would be classed as an offensive weapon and would never be allowed in a British stadium.

Yet they allow flags with sticks in and on a more regular basis things like Thermos flasks.

I agree they are awful.....but you don't "invent" a basic piece of garbage which is just a plastic tube that produces just one note (B flat) when you blow down it.

I say import a few thousand and sell them ouside Villa Park on matchdays, let them lot suffer.

Lol now theres an idea, I just dont get the whole concept, all the people do is blow on these things.. not in any tune or anything, just randomly blowing on them, its really bad, to the point where ive been muting the games and listening to music.

At Pretoria University they have been doing tests with this awful piece of plastic, and they say that it produces about 130 decibels.

My step-daughter, who is an audiologist, tells me that any noise in excess of about 80 decibels is harmful to the human ear.

But try telling that to 50,000 vuvuzela-blowing Bafana fans.

They have no place in English football.

Fine at a world cup in Africa, not domestically.

There actually for scaring away wild animals from crops....................so I suppose it would be ok to use 'em against Millwall if we ever play them again! :LMAO: The damage they do to your ears will probably mean that they will get banned at matches anyway, hope so.

Yes indeed, my Dad always brings his Thermos with him come rain or shine, it fell over and broke once, goodness knows what might have happened if those shards of glass had got into the hands of someone from the Tilton! :copno:

No thanks, they drown out all the singing. There isn't a great deal as it is. Surely we want to persuade people to come to the game, blast their ears out with that noise and that isn't going to work.

My point was that anything can be viewed as a weapon including the coins in your pocket. A piece of light plastic tubing is no more a weapon than other things, except for genuine weapons.

If you have ever been to an England game you would know that they already sell horns on the merchandising stands outside the game so they are not a new phenomenon and are already used across UK grounds.

I will state now that if anyone decides to blow one whilst sitting next to me at St St. Andrews they will find it will in future only serve to magnify the sound of them farting.

Why not give em a go?

Lets face it something needs to be done about the rubbish atmosphere down St Andrews nowadays!

On another note, anyone notice fans drinking bottles of beer inside the stadiums (budweiser I think) wonder if that will ever happen at grounds in the uk (especially St Andrews), I'd like to think so one day!!!

they do it all the time at Reading, Wycombe, Watford and Stockport. But that's when London Irish, Wasps, Saracens and Sale are playing their home games there.

You see, as a rule you get what you deserve in life. Behave in a civilised manner and you'll get ale pitchside, but if you like tribal supporting then you won't.
